Microsoft announced 12 new games for Xbox Game Pass yesterday, but one they failed to mention was that Solasta: Crown of the Magister was launching onto the service on day one. While the game has been available on PC since April 2021, it was released on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on July 5.
Solasta: Crown of the Magister joins Xbox Game Pass
Solasta: Crown of the Magister was a surprise addition to Xbox Game Pass yesterday, having been missed off Microsoft’s official list. Inspired by turn-based tabletop RPGs, the game sends groups of players into the dungeons of Solasta as they search for treasure, learn the truth of an age-old cataclysm, and attempt to stop it from happening again. Players can take on the dungeons solo or in online co-op with three other players and cross-play is enabled between consoles and PC. The game joined the service alongside Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for consoles, PC, and cloud. There was also Last Call BBS for PC. Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, DJMax Respect V, and Road 96 will all be arriving on Game Pass tomorrow, July 7.
Another surprise release will be making its way onto Xbox Game Pass on July 12 in the form of Garden Story. This pixelated action-RPG features a world inhabited by fruit and vegetables. As the newest guardian of the Grove, players are tasked with rebuilding the village and discovering the secrets of its hidden past. Five more games will then be added to Game Pass on July 14: Escape Academy, Power Wash simulator, Overwhelm, My Friend Peppa Pig, and PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls.
In other news, the Nintendo Switch OLED Splatoon 3 Edition has squashed all rumors of a Switch Pro or Switch 2 anytime soon. Elsewhere, The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play AAA shooter heading to Android and iOS soon.
