Ms. Marvel episode 1 features an end-credits scene that has ramifications for the character and the wider MCU, with a cameo appearing in its post-credits that ties the film to Spider-Man: No Way Home. So what happens in the Ms. Marvel credits, and what does it mean for Kamala Harris?
Ms. Marvel Episode 1 end credits scene explained
The Ms. Marvel episode 1 post-credits scene features the return of Officer P. Cleary, an agent of the United States Department of Damage Control. Viewers will remember him for his appearance in No Way Home, where he arrested Peter Parker for his involvement in the Battle of London with Mysterio.
In the end credits scene, Agent Sadie Deever — a new addition to the MCU, portrayed by Alysia Reiner — shows Cleary a video of Kamala using her powers at AvengerCon. Initially believing Kamala to be just another cosplayer at the superhero-themed event, he quickly realizes that the teenager is actually displaying her very real superpowers. After watching the video, Cleary tells Deever to “bring her in.”
So what does this mean for Ms. Marvel? As we’ve seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, nothing good comes from Damage Control taking on superheroes. However, in that instance, it was also understandable that the department was bringing in Peter Parker, given Mysterio’s framing of him for the Battle of London. In Kamala’s case, their plan for her is less clear, with us not yet knowing whether they’ll join forces with the character or if they’ll serve as antagonists.
The MCU has previously placed an emphasis on SHIELD and the Avengers Initiative, with Nick Fury always being around to bring in superheroes when he recognizes them. However, with there now being a slew of heroes through the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Fury being off-world, organizations like Damage Control are stepping in to fill that void. We’ll have to wait for Ms. Marvel’s remaining episodes to see what that means for Kamala.
