A Ukraine game bundle, combining the efforts of over 700 different developers, has arrived on itch.io which contains almost 1,000 items for the exceedingly low price of $10. The indie dev bundle includes 572 video games and 317 physical games along with a handful of extra comics, books, soundtracks, and tools. The bundle will end in less than 10 days and, at the time of this writing, has reached just over $700,000 of its one-million-dollar goal.
Ukraine charity game bundle is an incredible statement by game developers
Necrosoft Games shares on Itch.io why the indie community from around the world has gathered in support of Ukraine:
“The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the one we have. That’s why we’ve banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends. This cause has resonated with creators around the globe, to the extent that our bundle contains almost 1,000 games, tabletop RPGs, books, etc.”
All proceeds for this Ukraine game bundle, hosted by Necrosoft Games, will be split 50/50 between two charities: the International Medical Corps which provides medical assistance to those in need, and Voices of Children, which supports children coping with PTSD and helps build shelters for those impacted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The bundle includes a bevy of indie games, many of which have a ‘Very Positive’ rating or higher on Steam. Listing them all would be exhaustive, but it includes Celeste, 2064: Read only memories, Inmost, TowerFall, Underhero, Jotun, aand Superhot. On the physical games side, there are a lot of tabletop RPGs including Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Lost Eons.
In other news, related to Ukraine, the Nintendo eShop has been suspended in Russia and Microsoft has halted sales of its new products and services in Russia as well.
