Elden Ring players will likely be stumped when they find the riddle in the Converted Tower and Converted Fringe Tower. Inside them are a statue and a message that reads, “Erudition guide thee!” There’s obviously a puzzle to figure out here, but the one clue players get isn’t too handy. Fortunately, we’ve found where to get the Erudition Gesture that helps to solve it.
How to solve the Converted Tower puzzle in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, players need to use the Erudition emote in front of the statue to solve the puzzle in the Converted Tower. For the Converted Fringe Tower you’ll need to don a Glintstone Crown and then use the Erudition emote. However, the big problem is actually finding the emote in the first place.
To get the Erudition emote, we need to find a second Glintstone Key in Raya Lucaria Academy. There’s one located in the rafters of the Church of the Cuckoo, and it requires us to take a journey across the rooftops of the academy.
Start by heading to the Debate Parlor Site of Grace. Then, head north and then west up the rubble. After clearing the enemies out, take the northern staircase to where the two sorcerers were. Before the breezeway, turn to the west to find an area with stairs that are safe to jump down to.
Heading up the stairs and continuing west, then south will take players to an area where they can jump down to the rooftops. Now players just need to follow the rooftops toward the Church of the Cuckoo. It’s a fairly linear area, and the mix of enemies is the same that players have fought throughout the academy.
When players reach the church, they can enter through a window. The glintstone key can be easily seen twinkling on a chandelier. Just drop down and snag it.
Once players are done exploring, they can head back to the Church of Irith. Thops will still be waiting there (most will remember him from after they beat Godrick) and express his joy when presented with the Academy Glintstone Key.
Unfortunately, we’ve sealed his fate. Head to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace and go out the western door. Hang a right around the building to find a very dead Thops seated at a desk. Players will get his bell bearing, a spell, and the Erudition emote. Now, just head back to the towers, stand in front of the statues, trigger the emote, and wait for the ladder to appear.
