Will Jojo Stone Ocean come to Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video?

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean debuted on Netflix recently, but fans are wondering if it’ll be coming to any other streaming services. In particular, there are those that expected that Stone Ocean would release on Crunchyroll, as that’s been the home of the series in the United States for almost a decade. We’ll take a look at the plans for bringing Stone Ocean to Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video.

Is Jojo Stone Ocean streaming exclusively on Netflix?

Unfortunately, Jojo Stone Ocean is streaming exclusively on Netflix. Part 6 marks the first time a Jojo season has gotten a worldwide release, launching in multiple territories simultaneously. This also marks the first time that Jojo premiered as an Original Net Animation, as it won’t be available on Japanese TV until January 2022.

Once Jojo Part 6: Stone Ocean starts airing on Japanese TV, fans can catch it on:

  • Animax
  • BS11
  • MBS
  • Tokyo MX

It’s doubtful that Jojo Stone Ocean will come to Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, or any other streaming service. Netflix is marketing it as a “Netflix Original,” which means it’ll likely stay exclusive for the foreseeable future.

Of course, this arrangement is a real disappointment for those who hoped to enjoy the series weekly. The first Stone Ocean drop was 12 episodes, and there’s been no announcement as to when the rest will come. Fans are somewhat split on this, with some liking the possibility to binge the episodes in one six-hour block. Others are disappointed that the extended series discussion and anticipation that come with a weekly release won’t be a hallmark of Stone Ocean’s run.

We also don’t know when or if Stone Ocean Blu-rays will be released. It’s possible Jojo Part 6 might remain streaming-only for quite some time, at least in the US.
