The Ascent weapon skins disappearing

The Ascent cosmetics bug is deleting players’ weapon and character skins

The Ascent is a hit, though an unfortunate inventory wipe bug is turning some players off. After collecting weapon skins and character cosmetics, many users are finding that they’ve vanished when attempting to equip them. The Ascent weapon skins disappearing glitch is quite prevalent and can impact the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.

The Ascent: Is there a missing weapon and armor skins fix?

Players that lose cosmetic items to The Ascent disappearing skins glitch should complete an official bug report. The developer is likely aware of the issue already, though additional feedback could help to produce a fix. Unfortunately, the only current option is to wait on a new The Ascent update containing a solution.

The problem is pretty widespread, with The Ascent weapon skins most commonly going missing. Some players report that their character cosmetics like shirts and armor have also disappeared, however. Although it’s frustrating, it is at least possible to continue playing the game using default skins until Neon Giant (hopefully) issues a fix.

There’s also no dodging the issue by swapping between playing The Ascent on PC and Xbox for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. There are reports from affected users across all available platforms; that’s Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Windows 10 and Steam). With a bit of luck, it won’t be long until a patch rolls out and has everyone looking their best.

Disappearing skins isn’t the only major issue with The Ascent at launch. Unfortunately, there’s also a co-op multiplayer bug that prevents users from playing online with friends. Cooperative is arguably the best way to play (there’s even cross-platform support), making it a tough pill to swallow for many.

In other recent news, Star Wars fans can look forward to a LEGO Star Wars Halloween special in just a couple of months. Yes, October is that close already.
