Given how long they take to release, fans wonder how many more Rick and Morty seasons will air. With a low episode count and sporadic air dates, it’s not hard to wonder if Rick and Morty has been canceled. However, this is far from the case, and we’ll discuss how many seasons there’ll be below.
How many seasons are Rick and Morty going to air?
Rick and Morty signed for 70 new episodes after season four aired. If the show sticks to its 10 episodes per season format, there are at least seven more seasons in store for fans.
Rick and Morty just started airing its fifth season last month. Like many Adult Swim shows, Rick and Morty doesn’t have a new season each year. It also doesn’t have a particular time of the year when it airs.

- Season 2: 10 Episodes
- First Episode Air Date: July 26, 2015

- Last Episode Air Date: October 1, 2017
- Season 4 : 10 Episodes (Split-season)
- First Episode Air Date: November 10, 2019
- Last Episode Air Date: May 31, 2020
- Season 5: 10 Episodes
- First Episode Air Date: June 20, 2021
So, if the creators don’t pick up the pace, then the show will run for 14 more years. If it didn’t get renewed again, its last season, season 11, would premiere in 2034. For perspective, that’s long enough for a baby born today to make it to their Freshman year of high school.
Needless to say, there’s plenty of Rick and Morty to come. Even if Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon moved to a yearly release schedule, the show wouldn’t end until 2027 at the earliest.
Of course, like Family Guy, The Simpsons, and South Park, this show could be renewed for additional seasons and become an animated institution.
