Fans are digging into the Resident Evil: Village Maiden demo and trying to decipher every secret it holds, including whether or not it has multiple endings. The Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour demo ended up having eight different endings after its two major updates. Given the series’ history, it would be surprising if there weren’t Resident Evil PS5 demo multiple endings.
Does the Resident Evil: Village Maiden demo have multiple endings?
The Resident Evil: Village PS5 demo is relatively brief and doesn’t give players a lot of time to become acquainted with the game. The demo puts the player in the shoes of an unnamed person locked in the dungeon of Castle Dimitrescu. Unfortunately, though it gives a taste of the macabre beauty that can be expected in the full version, the Resident Evil: Village Maiden demo doesn’t feature any alternate endings that we’ve found.
Capcom made it clear that today’s release is a “visual demo.” Its main goal is to show off how the game will look on next-gen consoles and provide a taste of Castle Dimitrescu for fans. The Maiden demo is closer in scope to Resident Evil 7‘s Kitchen demo, which gave players a peek at the Baker house and PSVR functionality.
However, one thing has us wondering if the Resident Evil: Village Maiden demo does have a second ending. There’s an item that has no apparent use that players can pick up: the necklace. While the rest of the items in the demo are used to unlock doors, the necklace doesn’t do anything. Since it’s description says it wards against evil, it may be the trigger for another ending. After several attempts, we weren’t able to figure out any use for it, though. Lady Dimitrescu killed us no matter what we did.
It’s also possible that Capcom may patch another ending into the Maiden demo. This happened with RE7: Beginning Hour. That demo also had an item with no apparent use when it was first released: the Dummy Finger. Perhaps Capcom has more secrets in store for those eagerly awaiting Resident Evil: Village.
