To put it lightly, Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t in the best shape when it launched on PlayStation platforms last week. In an effort to appease angry gamers, CD Projekt RED promised refunds to those that were unhappy with their purchase. Sony, on the other hand, didn’t get the memo. After initially refusing Cyberpunk refunds, the PS4 and PS5 manufacturer has since delisted the game from its digital storefront and started returning consumers’ money. When is Cyberpunk 2077 coming back to the PlayStation Store, though? Here’s the latest on the unprecedented situation.
When can I buy a digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and PS5?
Anybody searching for Cyberpunk 2077 via the PlayStation digital storefront — be it from a console, the mobile app, or website — won’t be able to find the game right now. That’s sure to disappoint any PS4 and PS5 owners looking to secure a copy of CDPR’s anticipated RPG. In the long run, however, the decision should benefit gamers. Still, it doesn’t stop people from wondering when the PlayStation version of Cyberpunk will be back on sale.
Cyberpunk 2077 will most likely come back to the PlayStation Store in February 2021. CDPR will release a second free patch in February that will reportedly “fix the most prominent problems” with the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
Neither Sony nor CDPR has officially commented on the matter at the time of writing, though. It’s possible that the game could come back sooner if CD Projekt RED ramps up production to improve the game’s performance more quickly. By the same token, it could take longer if the developers run into unexpected problems or the patched build still underwhelms.
At least there’s the Cyberpunk x Death Stranding collab to help pass the time, right? Oh, well, on PC at least… But, is the Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 DLC coming to PlayStation?
