Black Ops Cold War 'Voice Chat Suspended' Error

Black Ops Cold War ‘Voice Chat Suspended’ Error Message Fix

The Black Ops Cold War “Voice Chat Suspended” error message appears in-game and can be difficult to remove. It can impact players on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. It’s supposed to appear when voice chat has been manually disabled, but it can sometimes appear for no reason. Here’s how to fix it.

How to fix the Black Ops Cold War ‘Voice Chat Suspended’ error message

Black Ops Cold War 'Voice Chat Suspended' Error

To fix the Black Ops Cold War “Voice Chat Suspended” error message, players will need to do the following:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select the Audio tab.
  3. Disable and re-enable Voice Chat.

This will cause the ugly red “Voice Chat Suspended” text to disappear from the top-left of the TV or monitor. This will work on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Presumably, the reason for the new red text is to help make it clearer why players aren’t able to hear others. Not being able to hear both teammates and enemies can lead to a major disadvantage in team-based games, so it’s probably good that developer Treyarch has thought to include this.

This Voice Chat function only controls what is transmitted over Multiplayer and Zombies. The controls for the Warzone experience and entirely separate. Any changes to settings made in Black Ops Cold War won’t be carried across to Warzone.

Here’s hoping the red text becomes more appreciated in the future, as a nice warning sign to those who accidentally have everyone muted.
