Black Ops Cold War ‘Blackout Trial Has Ended’ Xbox error message fix

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War “Blackout Trial Has Ended” error is appearing for Xbox players after the new update. The message “Purchase the full game to unlock immediate access to Blackout, Multiplayer, and Zombies” stops users from playing, even when they own the full version. Players are encouraged to “Buy Full Version.” Obviously, this is in need of a fix.

How to fix Black Ops Cold War ‘Blackout Trial Has Ended’ error

Black Ops Cold War 'Blackout Trial Has Ended'

To fix the Black Ops Cold War “Blackout Trial Has Ended” error on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, players will need to:

  • Go to the Xbox Dashboard.
  • Head to the Games Library.
  • Highlight Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
  • Push the Options button on the controller.
  • Select “Manage Game & Add-ons.”
  • Check to make sure all required content is installed.
  • Once all required content is there, restart the game.

It looks like the new Black Ops Cold War update has caused the Xbox version of the game to not recognize installed content, forcing the user to reinstall parts of the game.

The above solution is hopefully just a temporary solution, with Treyarch Studios fixing it properly in a later update. At the time of writing, the developer hasn’t yet acknowledged the Xbox issue.

While the workaround offered in this guide should get Xbox players back up and running, it’s a shame that so many users will need to sit through even more downloads for this already sizeable game.

Another common Black Ops Cold War error is voice chat not working. This can affect public and party chat. Get caught up on the fix here.
