Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game — Complete Edition has been revealed, with the re-release of the beat ’em up set to make its way to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on January 14, 2021.
Ubisoft is publishing the re-release of the game, which will contain Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game along with its subsequent DLCS. This includes the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells add-on packs.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game PS4, Switch, PC, Xbox release date confirmed
As in the 2010 original, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game — Complete Edition will let players fight as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills, Knives Chau, and more, along with supporting local and online multiplayer for up to four players.
The beat ’em up will once again see players aiming to defeat the League of Evil Exes, including boss fights with the likes of Lucas Lee and Gideon Graves. Outside of its main compaign, different modes such as battle royale, wave-based zombie battling, and dodgeball will also be available to unlock. Sub-space mini-games will also make their return, along with its acclaimed soundtrack.
Scott Pilgrim fans have requested a re-release of the game since 2014, when the original was abruptly delisted from PSN and Xbox Live. This was seemingly as a result of the licensing for the game expiring, with this issue having now been resolved.
The Scott Pilgrim comic series’ creator Bryan Lee O’Malley teased a new announcement pertaining to the game earlier this year. This was supported by Edgar Wright, the director behind the cult hit film adaptation. Ubisoft revealed in September that the Complete Edition is on its way, with it initially given a Holiday 2020 release window. While its new January 14, 2021 release date means that it has experienced a slight delay, it still won’t be long before it reaches consoles.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game will be playable on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, with PS5 and Xbox Series X users also able to play it via backward compatibility.
