Why can’t I play Creative mode, Party Royale, or Battle Lab in Fortnite?

When the team at Epic Games shakes up the Fortnite formula, everyone takes notice. Of course, major changes usually result in game modes going offline. Even if Battle Royale is the focus of the update, the result is that you can’t play Creative, Party Royale, or Battle Lab. Why would these modes disappear, and what’s the latest event to make Fortnite game modes unavailable? Keep reading to find out.

Fortnite Creative Mode, Party Royale, Battle Lab offline unavailable

Many Fortnite modes go offline when the game is experiencing a major update. The latest update for today, December 1, 2020 sees the Nexus War finale and the much-touted Galactus event. That’s why you can’t play Creative mode, Party Royale, or Battle Lab — they’ve been temporarily disabled.

Thankfully, the team at Epic Games is usually good about notifying players when Fortnite game modes are disabled. You can follow the Fortnite Status account on Twitter to get informed of when certain game modes are scheduled to go offline.

The Galactus event is set to introduce a lot of changes in Fortnite. As such, the developers need to disable access to loads of different features. These notably include Save the World, Arena, and even the ability to use custom match codes.

Unfortunately, there’s really no telling how long these game modes will remain inaccessible. The Galactus event might not last very long, but previous events have stretched out for days. So far, Epic Games has not revealed how long the other modes will be down. As usual, it’s best to follow the Fortnite Status page for the latest updates.

If you’re trying to get into Fortnite Creative, Battle Lab, or Party Royale only to find that they’re offline, you’re not alone. The Galactus event is causing several game modes to become unavailable. How long they remain offline will largely depend on what sort of havoc the Devourer of Worlds wreaks upon the land.
