PS5 NW-102307-3 error | DNS server can’t be used fix

The PS5 is still a new piece of tech, and error codes seem to be a common issue. Among them is code NW-102307-3, where the system says a DNS server can’t be used. This is a common communication error, but as far as network woes go, this one is a pretty simple one to fix. Here’s what you need to do.

How to fix PS5 NW-102307-3 error code

How to fix PS5 NW-102307-3 error code

The PS5 NW-102307-3 error code appears when a communication error has occurred. The pop-up message will often say that the DNS server can’t be used. In most instances, you can fix NW-102307-3 by restarting your PS5 or double-checking the console’s internet connection.

The first and most obvious fix is to restart your PS5. Don’t enter rest mode — go for a full power cycle. This is done by pressing the PlayStation button on the DualSense controller, then heading to the Power icon on the lower menu bar. From there, choose Turn Off PS5.

If that’s not enough to fix NW-102307-3, you’ll want to do some basic troubleshooting. This error can appear if PSN servers go down, in which case your downloads will get stuck. You can double check the PSN Status Page to figure out if that’s the case. This error can also appear if you’re using mobile tethering on PS5. Otherwise, you may be experiencing signal interruptions with your Wi-Fi router. Try moving the console to a more open location, or connecting with an Ethernet cable if possible.

The final fix involves manually changing your network ports. Sony recommends the following:

  • TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, or 3480
  • UDP: 3478, 3479, or ranges between 49152 and 65535

Of course, this error can also appear if you’ve changed your DNS settings manually. Only you will know if that’s the case. You may consider going back to the default DNS, then setting up a static IP address with your router. Alternatively, you can try a different public DNS.

In most cases, PS5 error NW-102307-3 can be fixed by power cycling the console. Otherwise, you may need to fiddle with your home network settings. Of course, if PSN servers go down, you’ll have to wait until Sony can get them back up and running before connecting online.
