Nintendo Japan Details Super Mario 3D World With New Video

While the video above, entirely in Japanese, might not make much audible sense to the western watcher like myself, it does the best job of explaining all the new power-ups and abilities Nintendo has packed into Super Mario 3D World, the last big Wii U game for 2013.

It's been slow going for Wii U in 2013, especially compared to the rapid turn around Nintendo achieved with their 3DS handheld and drastic price-drop. Sonic: Lost World might not excite Wii U owners and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze got delayed to 2014 earlier this year.

Thankfully, Super Mario 3D World's multitude of powerups and multiplayer functionality should help keep everyone entertained through Christmas. At least there'll be plenty of stamps to unlock and challenging levels to master.

I seriously can't believe the variety on hand in this 3D World trailer, but after Super Mario Galaxy and the joyful Super Mario 3D Land we really shouldn't be surprised by Nintendo EAD Tokyo's creativity.

Do you have a Wii U? Is this the 3D Mario game we deserve, if not the one Wii U needs right now? Which power-up looks best? … And don't say the cat one. Multiple Marios is clearly the correct answer.
