Assassin's Creed Valhalla season pass DLC roadmap

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla season pass DLC roadmap

The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla season pass DLC roadmap lays out how Ubisoft is going to support its big (or, at least, one of them) open-world game in 2021 after the title hits on November 10. So what is coming to the game? And what will be free and what will be premium DLC? Here’s what is in the ACV roadmap.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s season pass (which you can buy or get with the ultimate or gold editions) comes with two expansions and one mission. As such, these three items are paid DLC (and you can read more about each here).

Wrath of the Druids DLC

Wrath of the Druids is the first paid expansion. This DLC takes place in Ireland and will release on April 29.

The Siege of Paris DLC

Siege of Paris is the second expansion for the game. It also takes players to a new place: France. This second expansion will also come out in summer 2021.

Legend of Beowulf DLC

Legend of Beowulf is not a huge expansion but an exclusive mission that is an added bonus for season pass owners or those who have the gold or ultimate edition. It will be in the game at launch and follow Eivor as they track down a mysterious being ravaging the locals.

But, of course, Valhalla will have a string of free DLC as well. It’s good to remember that plans may change as sometimes patches for unforeseen problems can push these down the line a bit. All four seasonal content drops will have new festivals, events, progression, skills, gear, cosmetics (which includes your longship, raven, and horse), and more.

Seasonal Content #1 | Yule Festival, River Raids, and more

The Yule Festival is the first big free update coming to Valhalla and will arrive before the end of 2020. This is likely to be a festive event.

River Raids are also new and will build on the raiding mechanic in the main game and will be “highly replayable,” but Ubisoft did not reveal how.  New Jomsviking ranks will also be added, which will let players induct Vikings from their friends. They will be able to level up and earn silver for players.

Seasonal Content #2 | Jomsviking update, festivals, and a combat game mode

Ubisoft wasn’t as specific about the second season coming in spring 2021. However, it did lay out that there will be a new combat-oriented game mode, an update concerning the Jomsvikings, another settlement festival, and the usual suite of new gear and cosmetics.

Seasonal Content #3 | Unknown

Ubisoft did not reveal anything about the third season of content. But it is coming in summer 2021.

Seasonal Content #4 | Unknown

As was the case with the third season, Ubisoft did not say anything about the fourth (and likely final) season of free ACV content. It will release in fall 2021.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Discovery Tour

Like Origins and Odyssey before it, Valhalla will also be getting its own Discovery Tour mode. No date or time frame was given for the extra mode aimed at teaching players about the research that went into the game. It wasn’t even in the roadmap. Odyssey‘s Discovery Tour was added almost a year after the game came out so that time frame may be similar for Valhalla.
