You may be trying to figure out how to play Marvel’s Avengers early since you’re seeing others play it on your PS4, Xbox One, or PC friends list. So how can you get early access to it before it launches on September 4? And who is allowed to get in?
How to play Marvel’s Avengers early
Unless you’re playing Marvel’s Avengers for review (like we are and our review will be live here within the next few days), you probably don’t have the game. But you can get it early before its September 4 launch in a few different ways:
- By buying the exclusive digital edition
- By buying the deluxe edition
- By buying the Earth’s Mightiest Edition
Those three special editions of the game are $70, $80, and $200, respectively, and they all give you early 72-hour access. That is of course September 1, a full three days before its true launch. So you will have to weigh whether or not playing a few days early is worth the extra cash.
But that’s not all that comes with the special versions. In addition to playing the game early, the digital edition comes with a unique Ms. Marvel nameplate and 1,000 credits for Super Hero customization options. That’s $10 worth of microtransaction credits.
The deluxe edition comes with more, as it should. It has the exclusive Obsidian Outfit pack for your Avengers (which has cosmetics for Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, and Ms. Marvel) as well aswith six exclusive Obsidian-themed nameplates.
The Earth’s Mightiest Edition is the big special edition you can see in the above picture. It comes with Iron Man blueprints, a steelbook, Hulk bobblehead, group photo, Avengers pin, Captain America statue, Mjölnir keychain, Black Widow belt buckle, and everything that it is in the deluxe edition. It’s a lot but you get a lot, too. Obviously, you can’t buy this digitally like the other versions of the game.
