Read on to find out if there is going to be a Pro Evolution Soccer 2021 PS5 release date or a PES 2021 Xbox Series X release date or not. Discover below what Konami has up its sleeves for its new soccer games.
Is there a PES 2021 PS5 and Xbox Series X release date?
Pro Evolution Soccer 2021 will not release on PS5 or Xbox Series X. Instead, Konami is developing PES 2022 entirely with the next-gen consoles in mind, making use of the Unreal Engine. PES 2021 will be skipping both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, releasing on current-gen machines as a budget “Season update” game.
Konami took to its own Pro Evolution Soccer website to tell everyone of its plans for both PES 2021 and PES 2022. It’s stated that PES 2021 will be a “Season update” game (cheaper, a reskin of PES 2020 with squad updates). Konami explains that it is “confident that this year’s game offers fans more than enough… to tide them over until” the “next-gen title is ready for launch.” PES 2021 will release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC at some point during 2020.
While it is disappointing that the game will not release on PS5 or Xbox Series X, PES 2022 is currently scheduled for testing “sometime in mid-2021, with an estimated release date later in the same year.” It sounds like the game could be worth the wait, too. Konami is promising “staggering improvements to all areas of the game.” This means greatly enhanced visuals, physics, and gameplay. We’ll have to wait and see how PES 2022 shapes up on the next-gen consoles. For now, though, we have a sneak look at a teaser trailer for next-gen PES:
