How to fix Black Desert Online ’email already exists’ error on Steam

The Black Desert Online email already exists issue prevents players from being able to create a new account on Steam. This issue means that you won’t be able to create a new account, forcing you to either switch to a different email address or not create an account altogether.

So how do you fix the BDO email already exists error and create an account with the game? And why are you getting the error message in the first place? Let’s take a look at how to prevent this unfortunate problem.

Black Desert Online email already exists error issue

The ’email already exists’ message in Black Desert Online appears as a result of you previously creating an account with the game. You may have started a trial account, but BDO now recognizes you as already having an account regardless of whether or not you use it.

Unfortunately, the game doesn’t direct you to a login screen on Steam if you’re trying to play it again after already registering an account. There’s no way to log in to your existing account after redownloading it, with you simply not being able to access your old account.

In order to play BDO after receiving the ’email already exists’ error, you must file a ticket with the game’s support. To do so, head on over to the official site’s ticket page, then select the following categories:

  1. Account
  2. Delete my account
  3. Trial account

After filing a support ticket, you should receive an email back from the tech team sooner rather than later. After filing our own ticket, we received a response within 24 hours — other users have reported a more significant delay, but as there’s no way to delete an account you can’t access, this is currently the only way to rectify this issue.

If you’re unconcerned about keeping the same email with your account, you can still create a new account with a separate email. To do that, all you need to do is register a new email, and create your account under that new email address.
