A Predator: Hunting Grounds campaign seems like a decent idea and way to translate the mechanics from the multiplayer. Theoretically, you could play as the hunter or the hunted in an homage to the first film. But does that theory come over into reality? Does Predator: Hunting Grounds have a single-player story mode?
Predator: Hunting Grounds Campaign | Does it have a single-player story mode?
There currently is no Predator: Hunting Grounds campaign or story mode. The game is a multiplayer experience through and through. Other than starting a private match with yourself, the only part of the game you can play without other people is the tutorial.
ALSO: Is Predator: Hunting Grounds crossplay?
It is very unlikely that this game will get a traditional story mode with long cutscenes. A proper story mode would take a lot of time and resources and the game probably isn’t structured for something like that.
However, there is the possibility of offline bots coming in the future. Friday the 13th, Illfonic’s last game, received an offline bot mode about a year and a half after its initial launch. This let players take control as Jason, but not the camp counselors. It also had three difficulty settings — easy, normal, and hard — that all changed the aggressiveness of the counselors. You could also set the number of counselors you went up against.
Illfonic also patched in single-player challenges for Friday the 13th. This mode let players take control as Jason in 10 scenarios. Not only did these have unique executions, but they also unlocked cosmetics.
Given how Illfonic is committed to this game and the history of adding offline modes to Friday the 13th, it is likely that Predator will get a bot mode or other offline mode sometime in the future. But for now, the game still needs work on its online modes since as players are having a hell of a time trying to actually find matches to play.
