The Last of Us 2 removed from Amazon.it, sparks delay speculation

The Last of Us 2 Amazon listing has disappeared from Amazon.it, Italy’s regional website for the worldwide online shop. The disappearance of this hotly-anticipated game from the country’s store has subsequently sparked concerns over a possible delay of The Last of Us 2 in that country and elsewhere.

A thread on ResetEra first noticed that the game was no longer listed. Indeed, a search for The Last of Us 2 Amazon listing brings up nothing whatsoever, causing concerns that it may have been pulled from the store entirely.

The removal of the game from the Italian Amazon store may be a part of a new initiative at Amazon revealed by Publisher’s Weekly. In it, the online retailer notes that they are changing their priorities for the near future.

“We have temporarily paused ordering for products that are not household staples, medical supplies, or other high demand products,” stated a letter sent from Amazon to its suppliers. “We have extended the shipment/delivery windows for some existing purchase orders to give you more time to fulfill the order. Please ship your products toward the end of the extended window.”

For now, the US Amazon listing for The Last of Us Part 2 is still available, although it may soon suffer the same fate as Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
