If you’re a fan of Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, The Surge, or anything else that fits into the “Soulslike” genre, then chances are Nioh 2 has caught your attention. If you don’t have a PS4 or a gaming PC, however, the original might’ve passed you by. Will things be different with Team Ninja’s upcoming sequel? Is there a Nioh 2 Xbox One and Switch release date?
In this guide, we’ll let you know whether or not you should expect to slay Yokai in Nioh 2 on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Is Nioh 2 coming to Xbox One?
Although it’d be a great fit for the platform, unfortunately, as with the original game, there are no known plans to bring Nioh 2 to Xbox One.

Although the PC and Japanese PS4 versions of Nioh titles are published by Koei Tecmo, elsewhere on console publishing duties are handled by Sony Interactive Entertainment. With the PlayStation manufacturer spending money on marketing Nioh games almost as if they were first-party exclusives, it’s unlikely that they’d elect to bring Nioh 2 to a competing platform.
Is Nioh 2 coming to Nintendo Switch?
Just like the meager prospects for an Xbox One version, Nioh 2 gracing Nintendo Switch isn’t likely. No plans concerning a Nioh 2 Nintendo Switch port have been announced by Team Ninja, Koei Techmo, or Sony Interactive Entertainment at the time of writing.
As aforementioned, the last company name on that list (Sony Interactive Entertainment) reduces the chances of us ever getting a Nioh 2 Nintendo Switch release date exponentially. With the PlayStation manufacturer marketing Team Ninja’s Soulslike title outside of Japan, it’s highly improbable that they’d want to entice people to purchase Nioh 2 on a console platform that isn’t their own. Regrettably, that means that the chances of a Switch release aren’t looking good.
