FIFA 20 1.07 Update Patch Notes | Title Update 7

The FIFA 20 1.07 update, also known as FIFA 20 Title Update 7 is live, EA Sports has announced. While you can download it right now on PC, it is only coming to PS4 and Xbox One at a later date, which we’re assuming could be a delay around a week or two. As it usually happens with every Title Update for EA’s soccer simulation (or football, depending on where you’re based), this download adds a significant number of fixes and improvements to the game. Every fortnight or so, a new update is released, showing that the developers are committed to addressing some of the most pressing issues in FIFA 20.

FIFA 20 is a simulation that needs to deliver a top-quality physics system, as every shot is expected to reflect the reality, and EA has devoted some time to improving the effectiveness of shots. The change is trying to mirror the way the ball behaves in real-life, with shots close to the goal now less likely to be impacted by errors. A combination of factors such as directional input and shooting assistance will now yield more accurate results.

FIFA 20 puts a lot of effort on its visual representation of the beautiful game, despite the recent Frank Ribéry controversy not doing it any favors. There were several graphical updates to stadiums, kits, shoes, balls, and more. The penalty takers will now stop moving their heads as soon as the shot is taken, providing a more realistic take on the always unnerving action of scoring a penalty.

29 new Star Heads were added into the game, but these will only show up following a server update that could happen at any moment, so stay on your toes.

Made the following changes:

  • Increased the effectiveness of shots taken 15.24 meters/50 feet or closer to the target.
    • These shots will now be less likely to be impacted by error.
    • The impact of ball velocity and vertical ball velocity on all types of shots inside the box has been reduced.
    • The target, in this context, is the exact location of where the ball is expected to go, determined through a mixture of directional input, and the Shooting Assistance setting.
    • This change is intended to bring shooting closer in-line with how it is portrayed on the real-life pitch.
  • Improved accuracy of Ground Passes when performed in easy passing situations.
    • An easy passing situation generally occurs when there is no pressure or interference from the defending team, and when the pass is performed at a reasonable angle and distance.
    • This change does not impact Through Passes and Lobbed Passes.
  • Increased the speed of Ground Passes performed during Goal Kicks, Free Kicks, and Corner Kicks.

    • The change impact all shots, including Finesse and Chip shots.

FIFA ULTIMATE TEAM (FUT):

Made the following changes:

  • Added a Matches Played counter on the Squad Battles Opponent Select screen.
    • This Matches Played counter tracks the first 40 played and/or skipped weekly competition matches.
