DayZ Livonia release date

No, the DayZ Livonia release date is not today (and no price was announced)

Apparently, some people have thought that the DayZ Livonia release date was today. Unfortunately, it seems that that is not the case — at least according to Bohemia Interactive. It appears that a mistake’s been made somewhere, and DayZ Livonia is not out just yet, nor has a price been announced.

“DayZ players: The Livonia DLC will not come out today — this date was never officially announced,” reads a tweet from Bohemia Interactive’s official account. “However, you won’t have to wait too long, it’s soon… We’d also like to reiterate we aim to release Livonia on all platforms (PC, Xbox, and PS4) around the same time.”

Aside from Bohemia Interactive, the DayZ Livonia release date was also commented on by the game’s official account on Twitter, sending out a similar message.

“Hello Survivors[,]” the tweet began. “We would like to remind everyone that we still haven’t announced the release date for Livonia DLC. We will release it without a prior announcement, and it will be soon!”

So why the confusion? Well, it turns out that the official @Xbox account tweeted that the DayZ Livonia release date would be November 13, 2019. (That’s today if you don’t have a calendar handy). It took nearly 24 hours for the official DayZ Twitter account to respond, causing the Xbox account to reply with, “Whoops, wrong date” and an animated gif.

Odds are there was a mixup in communication somewhere, but the damage had already been done. Although the DayZ devs made an effort to correct people’s misconceptions about the release date, it seems that the original (erroneous) announcement got some traction.

We’re now at the wrongly-announced release date, and people are a mite upset, to say the least. What’s more, the lack of any price announcement for the DLC has added fuel to the fire judging by the replies to recent tweets across both the game and the developer’s accounts.

So no, Day Z Livonia is not coming out today, and we still don’t know what it’s going to cost. The DLC’s Steam Store page says that it will launch at the “End of 2019” — let’s hope that date is correct.
