Frustrations are continuing to grow with the latest Call of Duty title. This time, a Modern Warfare Spec Ops Safeguard helicopter bug means that players can’t complete these mission types and get their rewards for doing so. Many are voicing their annoyance at Activision and Infinity Ward for releasing an incomplete game due to the issues it’s currently having. Modern Warfare Spec Ops Safeguard Helicopter Bug | How to board
Before we dive into the issue at hand, let’s see what the Safeguard missions are and how you’re supposed to evacuate on the helicopter. Safeguard is a game type where you’ll, well, have to safeguard a position from attacking forces and wait for evacuation. At the end of the mission, you’ll be extracted by helicopter. You can go to the vehicle and press the “use” button to get in. This is Square on PS4, X on Xbox One, or the E key on a PC keyboard.

However, you and other players are finding that you can’t actually board the helicopter at the end. Threads such as this Reddit one have appeared online with gamers saying the end of these Spec Ops games is broken. Without a means to escape and end the match, players aren’t getting XP or other rewards for all of the hard work they’ve just conducted.
How to Fix Modern Warfare Spec Ops Safeguard Helicopter Bug
Unfortunately, there isn’t a fix for this yet. The game has only just been released and, judging by the outcry from the community, there are a ton of bugs and glitches that need to be sorted out.
This is obviously one of them, but at the time of writing, the Activision Support website is struggling to cope under the strain of people wanting answers for their issues. As such, we can’t verify if Activision is aware of this particular bug.
You can make them aware by filing a complaint ticket on the website or through the the studio’s Twitter account, though. Hopefully we won’t be waiting for a fix for much longer. Otherwise, people won’t be playing Spec Ops for a long time.
