The Great Expedition is the latest content update for Black Desert Online and it is going to take players far, far away to distant islands in search of treasure and new adventures. The Black Desert Online The Great Expedition Update patch notes have been revealed, and this isn’t only about the great ocean: There are other interesting features that you can explore without setting sail.
Black Desert Online The Great Expedition Update Patch Notes Highlights
The Great Expedition update’s highlights naturally include the vast ocean and all the surprises that it has in store for every adventurer. Navigating your ship is now a more complex affair, as ship captains now must take the ocean current and wind into consideration during their seafaring tours. You won’t be making these voyages alone, however: You can hire sailor NPCs to help you out and conveniently boast the ship’s stats. They will get sick and you need to keep an eye out for hunger as well, but the trade-off is completely worthwhile.
ALSO: Silent Hill’s Keiichiro Toyama will work on Hotel Barcelona indie horror game
Daring adventurers won’t hesitate in the face of a challenge, and there is a huge one awaiting them. Khan is the giant maritime boss creature that will demand a large party fully equipped with cannons. It may be no Kraken, but it is a fearful opponent that will put up quite a fight.
The Great Expedition also adds new ships, which you can get by upgrading the existent Epheria boats. The Epheria Caravel and the Epheria Galleass will be the envy of other adventurers and boast significantly improved firepower.
While sailing from one island to another, you’ll get to meet various barters. These creatures are the central point of the new Bartering System, where you can trade specific items for higher level items. It’s a system that takes variables such as time and offer/demand into account, providing a more complex and potentially more rewarding way of trading.
