Call of Duty Mobile Zombies

Call of Duty: Mobile Zombies | Are zombies in the game?

With Activision and Tencent’s mobile military shooter out now for Android and iOS, many players are wondering what exactly the free-to-play game brings to smartphones. Promising a complete CoD multiplayer suite it’s reasonable to assume that competitive PvP and even Blackout-style battle royale feature, but what about a Call of Duty: Mobile Zombies co-op mode?

Is there a Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Mobile?

CoD: Mobile spent a long time in beta, and during that time players were able to go hands-on with an all-new rendition of the beloved mode shrunk down to comfortably fit on phones and tablets. Now that the ful game is out, however, Zombies mode is conspicuous in its seeming absence.

While we don’t quite know why the cooperative game mode isn’t included in the final product from day one, there is a hint within the game itself that we might not have too long to wait before we can all get to popping undead heads. On the right-hand side of the Call of Duty: Mobile main menu players can select their desired mode from a choice of standard multiplayer, battle royale (accessible from level seven), and then a third mode seeming to depict the iconic Zombies undead hand that’s greyed out and listed as “coming soon.”

Presumably, Zombies might need some additional development time before Activision is willing to share it officially in the final release. This might be down to the mode’s new mechanics, which rather than tying players to their phones for long stretches of time as they combat wave after wave, instead sees the structure tweaked to be more campaign-like and feature short, linear missions.

What exact form the Call of Duty: Mobile Zombies mode might take when it reaches the final game remains to be seen, but if the developers are true to their word we should find out soon.
