Unlock Disasters Guide
There are six disasters in SimCity, but they need to be unlocked first by completing specific challenges. Once unlocked, you can use them to screw up your city whenever you wish (you masochist, you).

| Tornado Disaster | Have 24 Wind Turbines at Wind Power Plants in your city. (Blowin' in the Wind Achievement.) |
| Earthquake Disaster | Mine 100 tons of coal or raw ore in your city. (Dug Too Greedily and Too Deep Achievement.) |
| Zombie Attack Disaster | Add a Diagnostic Lab to a Hospital and have 15 Sims die in a day. (Laboratory Outbreak.) |
| UFO Encounter Disaster | Ship any resource to a Space Center Great Work. (We Are Not Alone Outbreak Achievement.) |
| Meteor Strike Disaster | Have 200 tourists arrive on flights at the Municipal Airport. (What Goes Up Must Come Down Achievement.) |
| Big Lizard Disaster | Burn 100 tons of garbage in an Incinerator at the Garbage Dump. (What's Cookin' Achievement.) |
