Control was recently released and is already making some waves, pleasing fans and critics alike. Remedy seems to be confident in its potential new franchise, and is apparently planning on expanding on the story of protagonist Jesse Faden and other characters through Control DLC. The DLC has already been announced but now we might know who or what it is about.
At least, that is what a video by YouTuber ManFightDragon (via Wccftech) leads us to believe. He discovered various debug features showing some cool tricks, but the highlight is the possible Control DLC file name.

The interesting part of the video starts at 5:19, when a list of missions is displayed. In true debug fashion, players can jump to any main or side mission by selection an option from this menu, but there’s one file that stands out.
The file is titled “St01_MM_04_Marshall_START_Plus_PS4_SM15_Dlc”, leaving no doubts whatsoever about its core subject. The “DLC” part is clear enough, hinting at upcoming Control DLC that has yet to be detailed.
The Marshall name seems to refer to Helen Marshall, Head of Operations for the Federal Bureau of Control. This is an important character in the grand scheme of things, so the DLC could task you with saving Marshall, taking missions from her, or even controlling her, shedding new light on the mysterious events happening within the Oldest House.
Remedy stated that Control will feature at least two post-launch expansion packs. One of them is titled The Foundation and is planned to launch by late 2019 or early 2020 and this could be the Marshall DLC that the file is hinting at. The second expansion is simply titled AWE and has no release date so far. Both expansions will add new locations, story content, side missions, weapons, and mods.
Remedy stated that the Control DLC is in no way content that was cut from the final game. It is an extension of the story that the team couldn’t tackle due to time constraints, technical realities, and the overall way that the pieces fit together. Considering that Control’s main campaign takes between 10 to 15 hours to complete, it’s not like you’re bound to rush through Remedy’s new hit.
