Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Guns Guide
Let's be honest here. This probably isn't your first rodeo at a Call of Duty game or any kind of competitive first-person shooter. But just in case you're not familiar with what the more futuristic Black Ops 2 offers, let's cover the basics.
All of the following weapons lists that are linked below are unlocked by playing through the single-player campaign. Most are easily unlocked by simply completing missions, but the more special weapons tend to require you to complete five optional challenge objectives within a specific mission.
Your soldier can carry a primary or secondary weapon, each with their own attachments. Every mission has a recommended loadout, but feel free to customize this to suit your needs and tastes.
Serving as the basic choice for a gun, pistols tend to act best as a secondary multi-purpose weapon that's solid in close to medium range. It's not that fancy when it comes to attachments, but they're easy to handle and can be changed out quickly in case your primary weapon is out of ammo or if you're caught surprised by an enemy. The suppressor attachment is a good option if you want to be a bit stealthier in your approach.
We all know that shotguns rock at close range and are perfect for players who enjoy firefights in buildings with narrow hallways. Sure, they are inaccurate but because of it, they have good crowd control. Take each shot carefully though, since the magazine sizes are low and the reloads take a long time.
Assault rifles are incredibly versatile and particularly effective at close to medium range. The firing rates and the range of attachments vary depending on the list of assault rifles available, all of which are fully automatic.
As expected, SMGs have a high fire rate but tend to be inaccurate, which makes them most effective at close range. If you're the kind of soldier who likes close quarters and narrow corridors, then SMGs are a great choice to have as your primary or secondary weapon. Hey, maybe one of those bullets might hit someone even after that person is around the corner. (You know what I'm talking about...)
Similar to SMGS, LMGs have a high firing rate and extremely large magazine size. While they are wildy inaccurate, they can simply spray enemies from medium to long range without any trouble. Unfortunately, their incredibly long reload time reduces their mobility, so if you're caught in a bad spot, you should probably swap to another weapon like a pistol.
One shot, one kill. Anyone who knows the right spots on thed map to hide and has a stable hand is deadly with the sniper rifle. Patience is king with the sniper rifle, and missing a shot might be enough to run and hide somewhere else since you might have just given away your location to every enemy in sight. You might also want to partner up with someone to make sure they've got your back covered while you're focusing on your shot.
Tanks and helicopters got you down? Launchers are the perfect solution. Some launchers have the ability to lock onto giant metal objects and destroy them within two strikes, if not one.
This classification is usually meant for the badass weapons that can't be fit into any other category, including miniguns, grenade launchers, ballistic knives, and whatever Black Ops 2 thinks is
sci-fi fantasymodern warfare.
