Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected

Getting the Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected rifle is no easy task, but it certainly is possible. There are five different steps that you need to follow in order to get the Outbreak Perfect weapon in Destiny 2, and they are outlined below.

The Enemy of My Enemy

*Note: Pay attention to your path in this mission, because you’ll need to retrace it to complete the next step.

The first thing you need to do is head to Titan and complete the mission that unlocks the Rat King Exotic Hand Cannon quest. This quest should be available to you if you have completed the main campaign. If you’ve completed the campaign but don’t have the quest available to you, head over to Sloane on Titan and you’ll be given The Enemy of My Enemy mission.

Once you have acquired the mission, play through it until you reach the reactor room where you are able to recover the reactor. In the reactor room, you’ll encounter two people: A Fallen Captain named Mithrax and a Hive Knight. You’ll need to kill one of them to get the reactor, which you’ll need to do in order to continue the steps to unlock the Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected rifle.

Some say that killing Mithrax will mess things up and others say it doesn’t matter. So, to be safe, kill the Hive Knight and you’ll be able to recover the reactor. Now that you have the reactor, head back to Titan and talk with Sloane. This will complete the first step to getting the Outbreak Perfected rifle in Destiny 2.

Pick up the Fallen Transponder

Once you have finished the mission, you’ll need to retrace your steps and pick up the Fallen Transponder. You’ll need to go into the Command Center, which is the same room you were in for The Enemy of My Enemy mission. Search around the room until you find a side door, and beyond it you’ll find the Fallen Transponder sitting in a tub.

*Note: If you do this step before completing The Enemy of My Enemy mission, the Command Center will be locked.

Activate the Six Transponder Nodes

By now you should have completed The Enemy of My Enemy mission and picked up the Fallen Transponder. You’re close to getting the Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected rifle, but we still have a few more steps! However, be warned, this step is a bit of a doozy.

You’re going to need to activate the nodes on the transponder, and to do that you’ll need to locate six different node keys. The keys needed to decrypt the transponder are all located in Lost Sectors, four on Earth and two on Nessus.

On Earth, the keys are located in the Lost Sectors at The Drain, Atrium, Widow’s Walk, and Whispered Falls. At The Drain, the key is located at the bottom of a cliff about halfway through the mission, just outside an underground structure by some purple tarps.

At Atrium, you’ll need to go to the church in Trostland. You’ll find the entrance to the Lost Sector towards the back of the church; simply follow the path and eventually you’ll see a locker room on your left. Head inside and you’ll find the second key needed to decrypt the nodes.

To find the key at Widow’s Walk, head to the entrance to the Lost Sector, which can be found by one of the old shops. Keep going until you reach a boss fight, and once you defeat it, go to the right of the boss chest and you’ll find the key up on a ledge.

The final key on Earth can be found at Whispered Falls, in the Outskirts Region. Head right and you should see a faint green light. The key for the node should be right next to the green goop. Four down, two to go!

Now you’ll need to head to Nessus. The two node keys can be found in the Lost Sector at The Rift and The Carrion Pit. The Rift key is located in Exodus Black;you should see the Lost Sector sign immediately once you spawn. Head through the cave until you get to the main area. The node key will be in a giant shipping container above you.

The final node key is located in The Carrion Pit. Spawn at Exodus Black and head left and go to the Glade of Echos, which will take you to the Lost Sector. Follow the path and you’ll find the key to the right of the final chest behind some panels. You’ll need to jump down off the platform and then back up through a little opening, it can be a bit tricky to get to, but you’ll get it eventually.

Now you are one step closer to getting the Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected weapon!

*Note: If you still need more help, a few Reddit users have put together a detailed guide to finding the node keys.

The Farm

Once you get all the node keys, you’ll be shown a hodgepodge of letters and numbers. No one really knows what they mean, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Now that you have acquired the keys, head to The Farm.

Head into the basement of the main building at The Farm, which was previously locked. You’ll eventually find Mithrax (even if you killed her earlier). She will give you a new mission called Zero Hour. This mission is a power level 690 and allows no modifiers, so you’ll want to be prepared. You’ll have 20 minutes to complete the mission.

Complete the Zero Hour Mission

Congrats! You’ve reached the last step to unlocking the Destiny 2 Outbreak Perfected weapon! The Zero Hour Mission is going to be challenging, so bring along some high-level friends.

Once you have completed the Zero Hour Mission in Destiny 2, you’ll at last be rewarded with the Outbreak Perfected pulse rifle. Congratulations!
