Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has announced a new Fortnite map will be shown at a Samsung event later this month. On March 16, Ninja is attending the event with K-Pop band iKON at Samsung’s 837 venue in New York City. The tech company has invited players to register for a chance to play with Ninja on the new map.
While not stated by Ninja in his announcement, Samsung confirmed the new Fortnite map would be a Creative Island, as opposed to a new Fortnite Battle Royale map. Creative Island’s are available in the game’s Creative Mode which allows players to experiment in Fortnite with games, races, and other types of battle.
Along with the map announcement, Samsung’s post spoke about the rest of their current collaboration with Ninja and iKON. Ninja recently announced a “highly-coveted” iKONIK outfit and “Scenario” emote for the game. The items will be available from March 8 and are exclusive to owners of the 2019 lineup of Galaxy S phones.
Outside of this event, Epic Games recently announced the Fortnite World Cup 2019. The tournament will feature a prize pool of $100,000,000 and the qualifiers begin on April 13. The event will include 100 solo players and 50 duos battling it out for a share of the pool. The final itself takes place on July 26-28 in New York City.
Ninja’s collaborators extend outside of Samsung, the popular streamer recently announced he’d be featured in a line of toys. The Lamo streamer toys will feature Ninja, DrDisRespect, and Summit1G. Along with toys modeled after the streamers, the line will include an augmented reality game and other merchandise.
Recently Ninja has been playing a lot of Apex Legends, and is one of many streamers who worked with EA and Respawn around the launch of the new battle royale game. The streamer may have unintentionally set the game on a collision course with Fortnite, the title that helped him first find fame. The news was revealed yesterday that Apex Legends had hit 50 million players at a rate faster than Fortnite.
