The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr announced, will add a new necromancer class

During its livestream on Twitch, Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda have revealed a new chapter heading to The Elder Scrolls Online in June. The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr will bring a huge new zone as well as a new playable class to Tamriel. In addition to the new content arriving with The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, the Season of the Dragon was revealed which will herald a year-long adventure, spanning all four updates that are planned for 2019.

The setting for the new The Elder Scrolls Online expansion had been datamined last week and the announcement today confirms it. The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr will give players the chance to explore the vast home to the Khajiit race, for the first time since The Elder Scrolls: Arena, back in 1994. The new Elsweyr zone is promised to rival the size of last year’s new Summerset and will see the addition of a new main story questline as well as more optional sidequests, adding around 30 hours of new content to explore.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr also adds the necromancer class, capable of commanding the dead to do its bidding and using elemental spells, both offensively and defensively. Additionally, a number of Delves and Public Dungeons will be added, along with Sunspire, a new 12-player trial, and the new world events, Dragon Attacks.

The Season of the Dragon was also revealed during the livestream; a year-long adventure that will span 2019’s updates, starting with the Wrathstone DLC in February and continuing through Elsweyr and into two more updates planned for later in the year. Players will need to band together as the great dragon Kaalgrontiid threatens the ancestral home of the Khajiit.

If you want to jump straight into the new chapter content when it releases in June, you won’t need to worry about slogging through previous chapters first as The Elder Scrolls Online level-scaling allows new content to be accessed easily by new and old players alike.
