Starlink Battle for Atlas Trailer Reveals New Story Details

Ubisoft has released a new Starlink Battle for Atlas trailer which revealed new story details, alongside more information about the upcoming action-adventure game. Players will be part of a group of heroic interstellar pilots, dedicated to saving the Atlas star system from the Forgotten Legion, an evil robot force.

In the Starlink Battle for Atlas trailer, it is established that Nova is the energy source that makes it possible for races to embark on space travel. Grax and his Forgotten Legion want to harvest Nova for some as-of-yet unknown nefarious purpose. It’s up to the player to ignite that Starship and bring the fight to the enemy. The visuals are reminiscent of an animated Disney movie coming to life in a video game.

Utilizing its toys-to-life system, players can fully customize their Starship. Any changes made to the real thing will be reflected instantly in the game’s version. These include all manner of pilots, hulls, wings, and weapons, which in turn can be catered to the player’s own unique playstyle.

Additionally, players will be able to explore many planets, each with its own identity, ecosystem, and wildlife. The developer states that these planets will evolve depending on the player’s actions and choices. Enemies can even take over some of these planets if swift action isn’t taken. As initially revealed during E3 2018, Nintendo Switch owners can look forward to exclusive Star Fox add-on content, including Fox McCloud, Arwing, and bonus missions.

Starlink Battle for Atlas is slated to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 16, 2018. Unfortunately, the game won’t be releasing on PC. For more details and information, check out our early hands-on preview of the game, describing it as “a game which doesn’t rely on its gimmicks to be a game that’s worth your attention.” In the meantime, watch the new Starlink Battle for Atlas trailer below.
