The Sea of Thieves 1.22 update has dropped anchor. While the latest patch notes from Rare don’t detail too much in the way of sweeping changes, there are plenty of tweaks and a look at what’s happened to the missing Kraken. All that, including the Sea of Thieves 1.22 update download size, is listed below.
Sea of Thieves 1.22 Update: Main Changes
We now have confirmation that the Sea of Thieves Skeleton Ship times floating about on Reddit earlier in the week are legit. That’ll help seafaring sailors coordinate their times of attack for the server-wide events.
Also, optimization has been a key focus for Rare this week. “Multiple server and client crash fixes” have been addressed, ensuring that the only thing that’ll slow you down is a set of choppy waves and a few pesky pirates.
Elsewhere, Rare are looking forward to future fixes. The Kraken is still MIA due to bugs, with the explosion animation for skeletons underwater also on the docket to be tweaked in an upcoming update.
Sea of Thieves 1.22 Update: Commendations Fix
One of the most aggravating glitches Sea of Thieves players have encountered recently is that certain Commendations aren’t popping. Specifically, the (deep breath now) Fleet Protectors of the Ancient Isles Commendation has failed to unlock for players in recent weeks. Rare has promised that’s now been addressed and will unlock as per normal going forward.
Sea of Thieves 1.22 Update: Download Size
Both the Xbox One and Xbox One X versions of the game clock in at 1.41 GB. PC players will be pleased to note that their 1.22 update is nearly 50 percent smaller at 1.04 GB.
