Vita’s Black Ops: Declassified May Have Had Only A 5-Month Development Cycle

Patience is a virtue, especially when you're making a game that's supposed to be a system-seller.

According to superannuation, Kotaku columnist and self-professed super sleuth, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified didn't begin development until five-months before it went gold.

They didn't really start development until around when Resistance shipped and wrapped up early last month. So May to October.

As rumor-ish as it sounds, nStigate Games—formerly known as Nihilistic—has launched two games for the Vita this year, and the previous one didn't do too well, either.

If true, this would explain why no footage of the game was shown until long after it was announced. Additionally, it would explain why its developer changed its name and announced that it'll be focusing on non-retail content in the future. More importantly, it makes a good case for why Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified is receiving disastrous…. no…. cataclysmically bad review scores.
