The first birthday of Fortnite is here and Epic Games is staging a celebration to mark the anniversary of its launch. This limited in-game event will allow players to take part in Fortnite birthday challenges and unlock special birthday-themed cosmetics. Completing all three Fortnite 1st birthday challenges will net you an emoticon, a spray, XP, and a special back bling.
Fortnite 1st Birthday Challenges and Rewards
Epic has revealed what the Fortnite birthday challenges will be. Starting on July 24 you can complete the following tasks for XP and cosmetics in game:
Play 14 Matches: 5,000 XP
Deal 1,000 Damage to Opponents: Fortnite Birthday Emoticon
Dance at 10 Different Birthday Cakes: Happy Birthday! Spray
Complete all Birthday Challenges: Birthday Cake Back Bling
Epic also calls all players to share their squads best birthday cake dance party with the #Fortnite1st on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Battle Royale isn’t the only part of Fortnite that’s getting birthday love, though. There will also be a Fortnite Birthday questline in Save the World that will let you hearn the Birthday Brigade Ramirez hero upon completion. You can also earn tickets to spend on special Birthday Llamas which contain weapons and heroes from all the events over the past year.
Fortnite has certainly come a long way this year. Ironically, its initial release into early access with Save the World was largely ignored, and it wasn’t until Battle Royale was released that the game became an international phenomenon. Epic Games is making hand over fist, and Fortnite is the most-played game in the world right now. With how far it has come and how much momentum it has, it’ll be interesting to see where the game stands when its second birthday rolls around. As it stands, I’m not sure I know of a game that’s had such a successful first year.
