Fortnite Season 5 Trailer Explains the Mysterious Rifts

The Fortnite Season 5 trailer is now live and available to watch. As predicted, it explains the mysterious rifts that appeared on the in-game island, and explores the link towards the real world. It’s cool to see that the Fortnite ARG did actually mean something, as opposed to being merely clever marketing hype!

If you’re wondering what exactly has been going on with those llamas popping up in the real world, or that massive burger found in California, then you’re just over one minute away from finding out!

Fortnite Season 5 Trailer

Though the Fortnite Season 5 trailer isn’t yet up on any official channels, the FortniteINTEL Twitter account has managed to secure the video, which is embedded below:

The real-life California desert is featured, linking the burger that was found last week. It’s definitely been interesting to see how Epic Games has fueled the hype, giving players plenty of hints at what is coming. Even now, however, after seeing the trailer and understanding what the rifts do, we still have plenty of questions. These will no doubt be answered over the course of the new Season.

With the rifts opening up a link towards the real world, I think it’s safe to say that more content inspired by real-life events and places is pretty much guaranteed. Epic Games has set things up for an interesting Season 5, that really doesn’t have any limits.

At time of writing, the Fortnite servers are still down while the developers implement the 5.0 update and prepare for a hell of a lot of hyped players to start grinding through the Season 5 challenges. Let’s hope it holds!
