Overwatch Endorsements Explained

Overwatch: How Many Endorsements to Level Up?

Blizzard Entertainment has released a pretty interesting and unique social feature called Overwatch Endorsements. Endorsements aren’t only a great way to tell a player they’re being a good sport, but they’ll actually help you level up. The new feature has arrived with the latest update to the game, update 1.25. If you’re interested in that absolutely massive update in its entirety, check out our post on it here. You can read on below for how many Overwatch Endorsements you need to level up, and what they are.

Here, we aren’t going to focus on the update as a whole but what Overwatch Endorsements are. This new feature is meant to change up how players socialize in the game. No longer will players only be able to acknowledge someone for being a negative player, but praise those who contribute positivity to the community.

How Many Endorsements to Level Up in Overwatch?

To level up you need to receive endorsements. This means you need to be a team player, stay in matches to the end, and generally do what you’re supposed to. However, it takes a lot of endorsements to increase your level, and minor things like leaving a match early or not receiving endorsements for a while can lower it.

We haven’t calculated a firm amount of endorsements you need to level up in Overwatch, but it’s a lot. Raising just from level one to level two can take awhile, so the key here is to have patience and keep doing your best!

What are Endorsements in Overwatch?

The best way to explain what Overwatch Endorsements are is by letting the patch notes speak for themselves. You can find the official description for the new feature below:

“Acknowledge your fellow players’ positivity with endorsements! Recognize commendable behavior for players exhibiting sportsmanship, being a good teammate, or for shot calling. Commend players who lead you to victory, put the team’s needs above their own, or exhibit humility in victory or grace in defeat. Endorsements are readily available to view on Career Profiles, the Groups menu, and more so you can tell at a glance the types of players you’re playing with. Those who consistently maintain a high endorsement level will receive periodic rewards, while those who display negative behavior or accrue suspensions will lose their endorsements.”

Overwatch Endorsements are, essentially, the counterpart to reporting a player for bad activity. The fact that you can promote a positive player in the community and have them be recognized is pretty awesome. This is a great move for gaming as a whole as not many games have had a feature like this so strongly integrated into their online game.

The fact that you can get rewards for being endorsed is even better. Overwatch Endorsements are certain to help promote a more positive atmosphere in what has been, to this point, a pretty toxic community.
