Death’s Gambit is only a few months away from its August 14 release date on the PlayStation 4 and PC. And today, publisher Adult Swim Games has released a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming side-scrolling action RPG. The new trailer gives us a glimpse of the game’s combat, the different weapons and abilities the player can have access to, some of the game’s stages, a few of its enemies, and some of the different bosses the player has to face. The trailer also gives us a quick glimpse of the game’s inventory and talent systems.
Developed by independent developer White Rabbit, Death’s Gambit puts players in the role of Sorun, a soldier turned agent of Death as he travels the medieval world of Siradon. It hasn’t been made completely clear what the game’s narrative will be but it will definitely include killing a lot of Siradon’s inhabitants.
According to the game’s description, players will have access to seven classes and over 10 weapon types including bows, scythes, longswords, halberts, and more. Players will be able to mix and match weapons and equipment to create their own build from the game’s roster of 30 weapon abilities and spells.
While Death’s Gambit is already positioning itself as a hardcore action RPG, those who want a bigger challenge will be able to play in Heroic Mode, which lets players fight already defeated bosses once more at a harder difficulty alongside new abilities. The game will also have a New Game+ feature for those who want to keep playing the game after completing it.
Death’s Gambit is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4 and PC on August 14. The game can already be pre-ordered on PC via Steam with a pre-order bonus pack called the “Chosen Death Pack,” which includes a shield, scythe, and a special skin for the player’s steed.
