Fortnite System Requirements: Can My PC Run Fortnite?

You may have heard of a little game called Fortnite. It’s pretty popular right now and, if you’re a PC gamer, you’re probably wondering how easy it’ll be to jump in and play a few games of Duos and the like. Thankfully, all of the Fortnite system requirements are right here, so you can compare how your PC/laptop of choice compares to both the PC minimum requirements for Fortnite as well as the recommended requirements.

Fortnite System Requirements: Can my PC Run Fortnite?

While Fortnite isn’t among the heavy-hitters when it comes to PC requirements, it’s a persistent online title with 99 others players, meaning you’ll need a great deal of memory to deal with any slowdown or stuttering issues. A very basic PC or laptop might not cut it.

To check the below requirements against your own PC or laptop, you will need to head to head to ‘This PC’ on Windows 10, right hand click This PC on the sidebar and click on Properties. A new window will pop up giving you all the details for your rig. Pretty nifty, huh?

Fortnite System Requirements: Minimum Requirements

As per the official Epic site, these are the minimum requirements for the game.

  • Operating System: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit or Mac OSX Sierra
  • Processor Core: i3 2.4 Ghz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Video Card: Intel HD 4000

Fortnite System Requirements: Recommended Requirements

Minimum requirements are all well and good if you’re a casual Fortnite player, but if you aim to be on the receiving end of a few wins from time to time, and to keep up with the best of the best, you’re going to need to match up with the following Fortnite recommended requirements on PC:

  • Operating System: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit
  • Processor Core: i5 2.8 Ghz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Video Card: Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 equivalent DX11 GPU
  • Video Memory: 2 GB VRAM
