The Crew 2 is just a few weeks away from its June 29 release date and Ubisoft has announced its post-launch content plans for the first year of the upcoming racing game, which will include a slew of free updates as well as a Season Pass.
According to the announcement, Ubisoft will release major free updates every three months to greatly expand the game’s experience, which will include new disciplines, modes, and features. The first update, called Gator Rush, will be released in September and will include the introduction of a new loot system, five new vehicles, a new “Legendary” rarity level for performance parts, as well as a new Hovercraft discipline that players will be able to experience and try to master.
The second major free update, set for sometime in December, will introduce a player-versus-player mode. Apart from the major updates, the studio also plans to release two new vehicles every month.
Ivory Tower Managing Director Ahmed Boukhelifa said in a release: “Continuous expansion and renewal has always been at the core of our vision for the franchise. For players, this means they will always find new activities and things to discover – or re-discover from another perspective.”
Those who purchase the game’s Season Pass, which will be priced at $39.99 and is included in the Gold Edition or Motor Edition of the game, will also get the following:
- Three exclusive vehicles on day one, the Porsche 911 TURBO 3.6, the SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE MK IX and the ICE Marine BLADERUNNER 35
- Seven days early access to the monthly added vehicles, totaling 22 vehicles
- One exclusive house location as well as two exclusive outfits
- VIP 20 percent discount off of the game store
The Crew 2 is scheduled for release on June 29, 2018, for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The game is already up for pre-order through the game’s website. You can check out the trailer for Year 1 of the game below:
