The PS4 has had many third-party controllers in the past, including the Razer Raiju and the Nacon Revolution Pro. However, none of those have matched the Xbox Elite controller, which many still claim to be the best in terms of customization and increased performance when gaming. Thanks to SCUF Gaming, PS4 players will now have the option of an Elite version controller of their own.
SCUF Gaming CEO and Founder Duncan Ironmonger revealed the new officially licensed PS4 controller earlier today, dubbed the SCUF Vantage PS4 controller. He said: “Controllers are the single most important connection between an individual and the game. They should be an extension of the player to maximize their performance.”
SCUF Vantage PS4 Controller: Features
The SCUF Vantage PS4 controller features side-mounted right and left ‘Sax’ buttons, which is designed to fit the natural placement of a player’s fingers and provide additional configuration options. The faceplate is removable, so players can easily change thumbsticks and personalize the controller to their preference.
Additionally, players will no longer have to perform multiple actions to adjust the volume when a simple swipe of the audio touch bar can do that for them. They can also reduce the weight of the controller with the removable vibration modules.
Similar to the Xbox Elite controller, the SCUF Vantage PS4 controller also features a paddle control system with four removable back paddles, customizable thumbsticks with three different heights in either a concave or convex configuration, adjustable hair triggers, and D-pad choices.
SCUF Vantage PS4 Controller: Price
It certainly looks like the SCUF Vantage PS4 controller is a carbon copy of the Xbox Elite Controller in everything but price. Xbox One players can grab an Xbox One Elite controller at a starting price of $149.99 while PS4 players will have to fork out $169.95 and $199.95 for the wired-only and wireless/wired version, respectively.
