You may have noticed some new staff popping up on GameRevolution recently, and no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you — our lovely site has grown exponentially over the past couple of months, and it’s only set to get bigger in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled for a brand new GR staff introduction post in the near future, but for the time being, you can check out everything that we’ve been playing this week. As always, tell us what YOU have been playing in the comments section below!
Jason Faulkner: Finally finished with State of Decay 2. It had a fun state, but it was grating by the end. About to head on vacation so I may finally catch up on a few 3DS games I bought and promptly ignored over the past year.
Paul Tamburro: I’ve been playing Detroit Become Human for review, but it’s embargoed until next week so I can’t say anything about it otherwise someone will hunt me down and kill me. Probably. Outside of that, I’ve been playing (and loving) Laser League, which is like a more inventive Rocket League for people who need a new multiplayer game in their lives.
Mack Ashworth: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is getting all of my attention now that I’ve finally picked it up. It’s actually the first Mario Kart game I’ve properly owned!
Astrid Johnson: I’ve been playing Shadowrun: Hong Kong. I absolutely rinsed Dragonfall and I’m having a lot of fun with this one too so far. The Shadowrun universe really speaks to me, and the storytelling of Harebrained Schemes’ video games is absolutely stellar.
Aimee Hart: Ni No Kuni 2 is taking over all of my free time. I’m only a few hours in, but I’m really enjoying myself and am kicking myself it took me so long to finally play.
Alleef Ashaari: I’ve been replaying XCOM 2 on the PS4 but this time I’m starting the War of The Chosen expansion for the first time. I completed the base game back when it was originally released in 2016 on the PC. The WoTC expansion makes the whole experience fresh and new, as well as unpredictable and more difficult. I’m currently enjoying missing many of my 99 percent shots.
Cody Perez: I’m in a sort of gaming lull right now as I wait for Detroit Become Human and E3 2018. I’ve been mainly hitting up Fortnite like usual, and I recently went back to Smite, which is the only MOBA that has ever kept my attention.
Bradley Russell: Tomb Raider Underworld. Yes, I mentioned it last week but I’m pleading with you all to go out and play it. It nails the whole Indiana Jones/tomb raiding aspect far better than the Uncharted games and the Tomb Raider reboots. Probably the best game you’ve never played. Well worth the £10/$10 it’ll dry you back on Xbox One.
Michael Leri: Now that I’ve finally got my platinum trophy in God of War, I’m going to finally try and wrap up Far Cry 5 in all of its mediocrity. I’ve always had to force myself to stop playing the other games in the series and now I have to force myself to play this one. When I finish that slog, I’ll probably jump back into State of Decay 2, which I may also consider a slog. I’m not too far into it yet but I can already sense how the repetition is grinding into my soul. But I’m interested in it enough so far to keep going.
