One of the sub-stories in Yakuza 6 has you tracking down cats for a cat cafe in Kamurocho. There’s a ton of stray cats to make friends within the game, but there’s no easy way to find the little cuties. Additionally, to make friends with them, you’ll have to figure out their favorite cat food, which takes trial-and-error.
Below we will tell you where to find the cat cafe in Yakuza 6, every cat location in Kamurocho and Onomichi, and their favorite food.
Yakuza 6 Cat Guide: How to Find the Cat Cafe
You can actually start the Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe sub-story as early as chapter one. It’s not too hard to find. Near the southern end of Sanryo Avenue, you’ll find it on the third floor of a building. It’s marked on your map from the very start, so if you’re lost, you can check it for help.
Once you’re at the Nyan Nyan Cat Cafe, you’ll find that there isn’t a cat in sight. Talk to the manager, and he’ll explain that even though he loves cats, they’re not so fond of him. The one cat that is there takes an immediate liking to Kiryu, and this convinces the manager that you’re the only one that can save the cat cafe by bringing as many cats in as you can find. If you earn a cat’s trust, he’ll send someone to pick it up no matter where you are. After that, you’ll start substory #21 Welcome to the Cat Cafe.
Yakuza 6 Cat Substory Tips
There are a few basic tips that will help you as you look for stray cats. You won’t actually get to begin your hunt until you hit chapter two, so don’t sweat if you’re still in chapter one and you can’t find any, they won’t actually be there until later.
Here are some tips that apply to every cat in this quest:
- Each cat has 3 locations it can be found. It rotates between these, but can also sometimes disappear completely for a bit.
- When you’re near a cat, you’ll start to hear meowing. The louder the meowing is, the closer you are.
- Every cat has a favorite food which you’ll need to feed it to increase their affection meter. You can buy cat food from the cat cafe and convenience stores.
- In the sections below we’ll list two kinds of food the cats like. Their favorite food raises the affection meter a whole lot, but there are other foods they’ll eat. Good food will increase the meter a bit, but you’ll likely have to visit the cat multiple times to fill the bar completely.
- Every cat likes Gold Tuna cat food, but it’s much, much more expensive than the other varieties. You’re better off using the guide below to see which of the regular foods the cat likes.
- There are 9 cats that you can find in Kamurocho and 10 in Onomichi for a total of 19 cats that you need to complete this substory.
