God of War Difficulty Levels Explained: How Many Are There?

God of War Difficulty Levels Easy Normal Hard Very Hard

Like we mentioned, there are several God of War difficulty levels for you to choose between. In total, there are four significantly different difficulty levels for the player to choose between at the start of their game. These are vastly different in terms of challenge and enemies, so we’re going to give you a little help on which one to pick for you.

Below, you’ll find the names of the difficulty levels which alone give you an idea of who they are for. Let’s get started:

  • Give Me A Story
  • Give Me A Balanced Experience
  • Give Me A Challenge
  • Give Me God of War

Which difficulty level to pick, and how to change it

Deciding which God of War difficulty level you want to select can be a tough choice. Maybe you’re not sure how challenging it will be or this is your first game in the series. Give Me A Story is the easiest difficulty around, and as the name states are meant for those that want to enjoy this surprisingly great story and not worry about a challenge so much.

The second difficulty level is Give Me A Balanced Experience, which is for those that want to experience the story with a moderate challenge in equal measure. Next up is Give Me A Challenge that is like this game’s hard mode, bumping up the challenge significantly and keeping you on your toes.

What’s great about the first three difficulty levels is that they can be changed anytime in the menus if you feel it’s too easy or too difficult. However, the final level, Give Me God of War, is unique in that once you pick it, it can’t be changed. If you find it too hard, you have to restart the game entirely. That one is for the most hardcore players out there.
