Blood Bowl 2 World Cup 2018 Announced, Qualifiers Begin Today

Cyanide Studios and Focus Home Interactive have announced the Blood Bowl 2 World Cup 2018 edition. For anyone who’s not familiar with the game, it’s basically a turn-based fantasy American football game. However, instead of humans, players play with races you’d find in the Warhammer high fantasy universe, including orcs, elves and the like.

The Blood Bowl 2 World Cup 2018 is open to anyone who registers on the official site. Players will need to earn their spot in the 64-player play-offs by either defeating other players in the Official Cabalvision Champion Ladders or participating in any of the Private Leagues managed by Blood Bowl 2 communities around the globe. The qualifiers begin today on 4th April 2018.

That’s not all Cyanide Games has in store as they’re also planning an exclusive Invitational Cup, which will pit eight of the best Blood Bowl 2 players in the world against each other. The winner will win two tickets to the World Cup. The developer also confirmed that the Invitational Cup will be broadcasted on Twitch.

Players can compete in the qualifiers on any platform they wish, including PC, Mac, PS4 or Xbox One. However, the playoffs and the Invitational Cup will exclusively require a PC or Mac in order to participate. In partnership with ROG (Republic of Gamers), the Blood Bowl 2 World Cup 2018 offers prizes worth more than $30,000, including more than $10,000 in cash, two high-end gaming PC systems with ROG components and AMD Ryzen Processors and a variety of gaming peripherals, as well as a collection of Warhammer games from publisher Focus Home Interactive.

The qualifiers will run from April to July 2018 while the playoffs will take place from July to August 2018. It costs nothing but sweat and tears to participate in the Blood Bowl 2 World Cup 2018. Blood Bowl 2 was originally released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in September 2015.
