Vivendi has been struggling to find a buyer interested in its majority stake in Activision Blizzard for quite some time now. Perhaps the over $8 billion asking price has something to do with it? Regardless, a recent report suggests that the parent company still hasn't given up on the idea of selling the company.
According to a source close to CVG, the sale of Activision Blizzard "absolutely remains under consideration." Vivendi is dealing with a serious amount of debt right now and is allegedly hoping to lessen it with the sale of the aforementioned company.
The source goes on to add that Microsoft has been in talks with Vivendi, but no headway has been made. On the other hand, Sony has allegedly ruled out the possibility of acquiring the publisher, which should hardly come as a surprise considering the financial troubles they are in already.
It doesn't appear that Vivendi is in any rush to sell, so it still may be a while before Activision Blizzard changes hands.
