Destiny 2 Glitches Let Clan Beat Prestige Raid First, Forces Bungie to Change Nightfall Strike

Bungie isn’t having the best week thus far for its hit shared world FPS Destiny 2. Despite the exciting release of the PC version that’s right around the corner, glitches and bugs are causing major problems for the development team. This week marked the release of the first Prestige Raid; a new endgame challenge for teams of six.

An expanded, more challenging version of the original Leviathan raid, the Prestige version recommends for you to have a power level of 300 or higher as opposed to only 260-280 for the normal one. Just going live yesterday, it was already delayed once to fix an exploit that could be used to make the raid easier to accomplish.

In the end, it didn’t matter as the raid team to complete it first used a different glitch entirely to finish Leviathan Prestige in just over an hour. The team beat the next fastest group by only four minutes. A video on Twitter quickly circulated, revealing one of the raid team members saying that he is “coil glitching.”

An already known Destiny 2 glitch for power weapons, it has raised eyebrows across the community whether or not Clan Redeem should retain the coveted title of World First for Prestige Leviathan. A Bungie community manager on the Destiny 2 subreddit stated:

We have seen the reports that an ammo exploit was used today in the Prestige Raid. This was not the specific exploit we were checking for and we don’t currently have the ability to detect it. Tomorrow we will release the top 3 finishers in the TWAB. You can make your own decision as to who should be celebrated.

As such, it seems that Bungie will most likely not change the ranking, leaving it instead to the community’s discretion. However, that isn’t the only trouble in paradise, as another unrelated glitch is causing trouble for Bungie regarding Destiny 2. The weekly Nightfall Strike has now been suddenly changed due to technical issues.

Originally, this week was meant to be the Exodus Crash Nightfall Strike but many players faced a bug that impeded progress and prevented them from completing the weekly content. Because of this, Bungie (via its support Twitter) has quickly changed the Nightfall Strike to Pyramidion. It is live right now alongside the new Prestige Raid in Destiny 2.
