Tell GR: Did You See the Solar Eclipse?

This week we’re taking a break from chatting about games on Tell GR to focus on the solar eclipse. To some people it might not seem like a big deal, but the next time a solar eclipse will cross the United States will be 2045. That’s 28 years from now, and most of us will probably be dead by then.

Although I was in the middle of the work day, I went outside and met with some neighbors who had some custom-built solar eclipse viewing boxes. They look like this:

It’s not the same as staring at the eclipse, but I admittedly forgot to buy a pair of glasses.

I live near Seattle, which had a partial eclipse of around 93%. At maximum coverage it was dark enough outside that shadows disappeared in an ominous sort of way. It was a neat experience, albeit short.

Did you see the solar eclipse? Let us know in the comments below, and share a photo if you took one.
